  • Our delicious cappuccino bar, on sale at Green's...

    We have a new cake in town...our delicious cappuccino bar.

    Vanilla and coffee sponge, with a thick layer of coffee butter cream, topped with chocolate ganache.

    As you can see, our cappuccino bar has been met with the firm approval of village resident, Alan, who certainly seems to be enjoying it!

  • Another Young Baker's Evening taking place at Greens!

    We have recently been holding our 'Young Baker's Initiative', a scheme we have devised to share our passion and knowledge, and to encourage our local youngsters to get into the swing of baking!

    If you are between the ages of 13 and 18 and would like to take advantage of a free baking master class at the Cafe in Grasmere and learn new skills, then get in touch!

    We held baking sessions in May, June and July, but there are still places available on our September evening.  The 'Great Green's Bake-Off' will take place in October!

    12 September (decorating theme)

    10 October - the big 'Bake-Off' competition whereby one winner will be crowned!

    The first baking session took place on 9 May when 7 young people came along and had a great time!  If you'd like to join us and fancy developing a love of baking, please call us on 015394 35790.  Not only will you learn something new, but hopefully, you'll have fun too!

  • Easter Cake Pops at Green's!

    We like to keep things unique here at Green's and our latest offering for those of you with a sweet tooth are these delightful little 'cake pop's'!

    Various flavours of cake, covered in chocolate and sprinkled with chocolates and  sweets, our cake pops are served up on a stick, and totally delicious!  We also have vegan and gluten-free versions available.

     

     

     

     

     

     

    As you can see, our cake pops have already received the seal of approval from our little cake tester...come and try one for yourself this Easter!

  • Evening Opening over Half Term Week

    Half term is upon us and we are gearing up for the crowds!  In addition to opening every day throughout half term week, we will also be opening in the evenings too.

    From today, we'll be open in the evening every day except for Sunday and Wednesday nights, right through till next Sunday, so if you don't manage to pay us a visit for lunch, you can pop in for a spot of supper.

    As ever, we have a wide ranging selection of dishes for all varieties of diet and, we've also been busy in the kitchen whipping up some special hallowe'en treats for the kids!

    We hope you have a restful half term and happy hallowe'en to all of our customers!

  • Coffee, gluten-free Cake and Comfort!

    At this time of year, when the weather can be slightly soggy, exploring the hills around Grasmere can be a wet experience.  Luckily, we have the perfect pick-me-up when you come off the fells!

    Rejuvenate with a steaming hot soya milk latte or cappucino, perfect for our friends with specific dietary requirements.  Pair that with a generous helping of gluten-free lemon and blueberry cake, gluten-free chocolate and orange cake, and vegan carrot cake with tofu cheese icing, and you're good to go!

    And for those who are joining us for dinner, why not try our homemade delicious gluten-free lamb curry which appears to be a popular choice: slow cooked local lamb, flavoured with chillies and ginger and served with basmati rice, chutneys and poppadoms.

    That's got to be worth getting wet for!
