  • We're open again in February!

We are now closed for a little while, whilst we plan our exciting new developments for 2014!

But, don't worry too much.  It won't be for long.  We're throwing our doors open again for business between 1 - 14 February, on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday's between 10:30 - 4:30pm, so you will be able to enjoy your 'Green's fix' again very soon!

Our 'winter warmers', which we initially ran for November only, have been such a hit that we decided to continue with those throughout December.  And, the good news is, they'll also be on the menu in February!  Just £10 for 2 courses.

So, lots to look forward to in the next few weeks and we look forward to welcoming you back!

  • Our gluten-free suet puddings are going down a storm!

It has been said that we don't mind setting ourselves the occasional challenge and the successful creation of our gluten-free suet pudding range is a challenge that we have definitely won!

Creating a gluten-free suet pudding is no easy feat, but we've pulled it off, with both sweet and savoury versions now available on our menu.

Choose from a syrup sponge pudding served with cream, ice-cream or custard, or if you favour a more savoury taste, we are loving our new rustic tomato and vegetable stew pudding.  There's also a traditional steak pudding on offer!

Of course, it's not only a gluten-free dish.  We have regular puddings too for those without special dietary requirements, so nobody has been forgotten!

  • Fill up with our 'Food for Fuel' range at Green's

Last year, we started a very successful 'Food for Fuel' campaign at Green's called 'Top ten fills to hit the Hills', providing our customers with a range of nutritious and high-energy foods to maintain fitness levels whilst enjoying the glorious Lakeland fells.

You will now be able to find the specific 'Food for Fuel' menu when visiting us in Grasmere.

Our top ten high-energy dishes are aimed at providing the best possible nutritional values for those seeking a healthy and active lifestyle.  The campaign focuses primarily on walkers visiting the local area and gives a guide on food to eat prior to walking, such as Yoghurt Parfait with Homemade Granola; food to eat whilst on the move, such as Very Veggie Wrap with Homemade Hummus, Shredded Vegetables, Homemade Chutney, Seeds and Dried Fruits; and food for recovery, such as Three Bean Chilli.

Although Green's already specialise in healthy, seasonal comfort food, they are very frequently asked which particular foods will benefit a day on the fells, so providing a concise list of nutritious high energy food seemed a logical step for their active customers!

It's not just about the walkers though!  At Green's, we believe everyone, including young people, can learn about the benefits of good nutrition and how food can impact the body’s performance.
