We're delighted to be featured in this month's edition of new local magazine 'The Face of Windermere and Kendal'!

The Editors were impressed with our famous chocolate brownie recipe and wanted to share this with their readers.

Our handmade chocolate brownies are becoming something of a legend in Lakeland!  And, they are a great idea for Christmas, so why don't you have a go at making them too?

Greens' Famous Gluten-Free Vegan Chocolate Brownie:

Soak one packet 150g of Craisins (dried Cranberries) in 200ml Orange Juice preferably overnight

Pre- heat oven to 180c

Melt 300g dark vegan chocolate, when slightly cool add 50g vitalite or soya margarine .

Combine the following dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl:

75g Gluten Free Plain Flour

150g Ground Almonds

50g Cocoa

400g Caster Sugar

1tsp Baking Soda

Add 1tsp of vanilla essence to the chocolate mixture and 50mls of soya milk.

Add the cranberries and orange juice and the melted chocolate to the dry mixture and mix thoroughly.

Spread into a brownie tin and bake in the pre-heated oven for 45 minutes.

The brownie will be quite soft at this stage and must be cooled completely before slicing.

    Hi, Karen, I'm so homesick for Grasmere! It's a rainy, chilly day here in N.C. which I expect it is there as well and what better day for tea and scones at your place or soup and roll. Then there's that fab chocolate cake....I hope you got the baggies okay and got a laugh when you opened the envelope! I realized you didn't have my email. Yesterday, I adapted a madeleine recipe to gf, vegan except for the 2 eggs, and sugar free. They worked out really well. Let me know if you want the recipe. Cheers, Wendy
